"I was first intrigued by the Facet brand by way of a Facebook advertisement. I imagined the Facet Mute sound would be rich simply by its wooden construction. When I received my first mute, its sound far exceeded my expectations.

As a studio trumpet player, when the call was for cup mute, I would often offset my bell placement to the microphone to accommodate the center of the sound being between the mute and the bell; not so with my Facet Mute. The microphone can be placed directly in front of my bell. This is because the entire mute resonates, creating a warm, colorful tone. I often compare it to the way the body of a bass or guitar amplifies string vibration and resonates tone.
